How do I get a new tutor or replace my current tutor?
We’re committed to ensuring you have the best possible learning experience.
Follow these steps to request a New Tutor for a new subject or for a different student:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Choose the correct student’s profile by clicking on the Initials icon in the top right corner of the My Learning Dashboard, if you have more than one Student on your account.
- Select Live 1:1 Tutoring within the left side menu on the My Learning Dashboard.
- Select Add tutoring in a new subject.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to initiate a new tutor search.
If your tutor isn’t the right fit, or you would like to replace a tutor for any reason, you may do so at any time.
When submitting your request, please provide as much detail as possible about your learning goals and preferences, as well as why you don’t think the tutor was a good fit to help us match you with the ideal tutor. The more information we have, the better the potential match with the new tutor. Our team will reach out if additional information is needed.
Follow these steps to Replace a Current Tutor:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Choose the correct student’s profile by clicking on the Initials icon in the top right corner of the My Learning Dashboard, if you have more than one Student on your account.
- Select My Tutors within the left side menu on the My Learning Dashboard.
- Locate your current tutor and click on Details.
- Select Replace Tutor.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to initiate a new tutor search.
Important Note:
Once you submit your request to replace a tutor, you will no longer be engaged with your current tutor, and a new tutor request will be initiated.

How do I get help before I am matched with a tutor?
If you have not yet been matched with a tutor, you can get immediate support through our Instant Tutoring feature. Here’s how:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Choose the correct student’s profile by clicking on the Initials icon in the top right corner of the My Learning Dashboard, if you have more than one Student on your account.
- Click the Instant Tutoring button at the top of the page.
- Select the subject.
- Enter the topic or goal you'd like to review and click Request Session.
- Click Start Session Now.
You’ll be connected with a vetted, qualified tutor within minutes to assist with your needs right away!

What do I do if I want to replace my tutor?

What should I do if my tutor doesn’t show up to my session?
We’re sorry to hear that your tutor didn’t attend your session. Here are steps you can take to resolve the issue:
- Contact Your Tutor Directly: Log in to your account and message your tutor to check their availability.
- Get Immediate Assistance: If you need help right away, use Instant Tutoring to connect with a tutor in minutes.
- Reschedule or Request a New Tutor: Log in to your account to schedule a new session with your current tutor or request a different tutor if needed.
