What is the maximum number of students in a class?
At Varsity Tutors, we offer several types of online classes — each designed for a different learning experience. Class size depends on the type of class.
⭐ StarCourses
What are they?
StarCourses are large, live online events led by expert speakers and partner organizations. These include:College admissions strategy sessions (for example, events with admissions officers from top universities)
Educational programs hosted with partners like museums or aquariums
Parent-focused sessions with education experts
How many students can join?
There is no limit to how many people can attend a StarCourse. These are designed for large audiences.🎥 Livestream Classes (Grades K–12)
What are they?
Livestream Classes are interactive lessons taught live by expert instructors. Students can participate through the chat but are not on camera or microphone. How many students are in each class?
These sessions are webinar-style and can include a large number of students which allows for groups of any size to interact with the world's foremost experts.
Since participation and interaction is focused on the chat, polls, emojis and reactions, even the most shy students find it easy to participate and can do so from anywhere, including busy locations. VT instructors love it, often commenting that interaction is much higher since anyone can send messages without having to wait their turn or gauge whether it's important enough to ask.💬 Group Classes (College & Adult Learners)
What are they?
Group Classes are smaller, fully interactive sessions where students can turn on their cameras and microphones to speak with the instructor and other learners directly. How many students are in each class?
Group Class attendance typically averages fewer than 25 students per session. This keeps the class size small enough for meaningful discussion and personal attention.Tip: Enrollment in smaller classes can fill up quickly, so early registration is recommended to secure your spot.
