Tools and Benefits

You can manage your session recording preferences by following these steps:

1. Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
2. Select the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the Home Page.
3. Select My Account.
4. Scroll down to Quick Links:
   • Select Session recording preferences.
5. Adjust Preferences:
   • If you want sessions recorded (default setting), ensure the sliding bar to the right of the student's name is pushed to the right.
   • If you do not want sessions recorded, ensure the sliding bar to the right of the student's name is pushed to the left, then you will also be opted out of session summaries.

You can change your preferences at any time following the above steps. 

Once adjusted, your preferences will be updated immediately on a go-forward basis.

Your Learning Membership plan can be used by any member of your household! If you would like to add a new learner to your plan, simply click on the drop-down menu in the top right corner of the Home Page, select Add Profile, and complete the form.  

Each learner in your household has access to:

• Study Coach: Quick help when you need it, or explore anything you want to learn about.

From art, coding, & zoology to history, AP calculus, & SAT prep, your Learning Membership offers comprehensive support for every learner. 

Tutoring session recordings are accessible for one year after each session, provided that the account remains active. An active Learning Membership plan is required in order to access these recordings.

These recordings can be used to support continued learning in the following ways:

• Review and Learn:
  Revisit important concepts to reinforce understanding.

• Reference Past Sessions:
  Use recordings as study aids when preparing for exams or assignments.

• Reinforce Key Topics:
  Strengthen comprehension by revisiting challenging material.

Varsity Tutors’ Live Learning Platform brings online tutoring to life with real-time, interactive tools that create a classroom-like experience. Here’s what you need to know:

• Live Tutoring:
  The platform enables live, synchronous classes where students and instructors can interact in real time. Using high-quality video and audio, the experience is designed to feel personal and engaging.
• Interactive Tools:
  Engage with digital tools such as a virtual whiteboard and collaborative document editor. Work through problems together in real time, with both tutor and student contributing visually and textually.
• Session Recordings:
  Every session is automatically recorded, allowing you to review lessons later to reinforce learning or catch up on missed details.
• Secure and Personalized Environment:
  Enjoy a safe, private virtual classroom designed for your individual learning needs, ensuring focused and effective tutoring.

This platform is built to make online learning as interactive and accessible as possible, offering the convenience and flexibility that students and parents rely on.

If you need a tutoring session right away, Instant Tutoring makes it quick and easy to connect with a qualified tutor:

1. Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
2. If you have more than one student, select the correct student profile from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the Home Page.
3. Click the Instant Tutoring button at the top of the page.
4. Select the subject.
5. Enter the topic or goal you'd like to review and click Request Session.
6. Click Start Session Now.

Within 5 minutes or less, you’ll be matched with a vetted tutor who’s an expert in your selected subject. You can spend as much time as you need getting the help you want! Sessions are available in 15 minute increments, and are deducted from your existing tutoring hours.

Instant Tutoring is available to support you whenever you need it!

If you would like to schedule additional sessions with the Instant Tutor from your session and have them assigned to your account, please contact the Varsity Tutors’ support team to initiate your request. 

*Note: Varsity Tutors cannot guarantee the availability of specific tutors. In the event that the tutor is unavailable, our support team will match you with a tutor who has similar credentials and background.

The Study Coach is available 24/7 and can be utilized for any subject. In order to access the Study Coach:

1. Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
2. If you have more than one student, select the correct student profile from the dropdown menu in the top-right corner of the Home Page.
3. Click Study Coach within the left side menu on the Home Page.
4. Enter your question in the message box.
5. Click the paper airplane button to begin chatting.

Learning Membership plans are customized to meet each student’s specific needs. Learning Membership Plans are based on:

• The subject being studied.
• The number of tutoring hours included per month.
