How do I update my default payment method?
You can update your default payment method through the payment settings in your Varsity Tutors account by following these steps:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Select the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the Home Page.
- Select My Account.
- Select Payment Methods.
- Click Add payment method.
- Enter your card details under Add Payment Method.
- Click Add Card.
Once your payment method is updated, changes will take effect on the next business day. Any payments due the next business day or thereafter will be processed using your new default payment method (and your prior default payment method will not be charged).

How do I request an invoice or payment receipt?
An invoice or receipt can be requested by reaching out to Varsity Tutors' support team.
Steps to Request an Invoice:
- Contact the support team through one of the options below.
- Provide the details needed of the request (e.g., date range, specific transactions).
- Allow up to 48 hours for processing.

How are Supplemental Tutoring fees calculated?
The hourly tutoring rate of the purchased Learning Membership Plan applies to any extra tutoring hours used within a monthly billing cycle.
For example:
- If the purchased Learning Membership Plan includes 4 hours of tutoring per month at $349, then the hourly rate is $349 ÷ 4 = $87.25.
- If an additional 1.5 hours of tutoring are used for scheduled 1-to-1 sessions or Instant Tutoring within a billing cycle, the supplemental fee is calculated as 1.5 hours × $87.25 = $130.88.
This extra fee will be added to the next monthly payment. In this case, the next payment would be $349 + $130.88 = $479.88.
This ensures that any student in the household can get the support needed within a given billing cycle without purchasing an additional Learning Membership Plan.
To find and manage your Learning Membership Plan:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Select the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the Home Page.
- Select My Account.
- Locate the Your Plan box for more details regarding your Learning Membership Plan.

What is the refund policy for Learning Membership plans?
Learning Membership plan payments are not eligible for refund, as stated in the Terms of Customer Account Use.
To review signed documents, including the Terms of Customer Account Use:
- Log in to your Varsity Tutors account.
- Select the drop-down menu in the upper-right corner of the Home Page.
- Select My Account.
- Scroll down to the Quick Links box.
- Select Agreements.
